What I can surely say though, is that in 99.9% of the cases it was pikes who did it, since we dont have any sharks in our lakes here in Sweden.The purpose of this guide is to provide a quick reference regarding known and proven ways of obtaining various fish and dealing with miscellaneous problems. I've been fishing irl for close to 30 years now, I dont think I can even count how many lures I've lost from lines being biten off. All I did was saying they have big and sharp teeths, and they DO bite through lines irl as well. I didnt compare a pike with a shark, I didnt mention anything about the game mechanics, nor did I mention anything about how thick lines they do bite through or not.
Dont really understand what youre trying to do here. In real life pike will take a fair time to chew through a heavy mono leader, especially if small, In game, hook a pike on a mono or fluro leader and it snaps instantly, no matter the poundage of the leader. Not saying that titanium should not be used for pike species, just that if you have a strong leader of appropriate strength it should not snap instantly, and you should still get a chance of landing the toothy criter.
I believe some one has advised them wrongly about fish teeth and gear needed. The whole system leader system is broken in my opinon. Add in that the new leaders break while rod is in the rod holder, with no additional pressure and drag set below breaking point of leader and line. The game makers have made it so you cannot catch them with out titanium leaders. Yes you loose less with a titanium leader, but you can still catch them on mono or fluro in real life. Also the teeth of a pike are set apart so are they not rubbing on the leader like a shark does. They have big teeth, but not serated teeth like a shark.
